GAAD celebration in Ottawa on May 18th, 2017!
We are planning a special event to celebrate the 6th edition of the Global Accessibility Awareness Day in Ottawa.
The 4th edition of a11yYOW will be held May 18th, 2017 at Carleton University (Canal Building - Room 3101)
This event is about bringing together the web accessibility community to share ideas, best practices, experiences and hopefully to raise the bar when it comes to digital inclusion. If you're interested in accessibility & inclusive design then we want you at this event.
Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) Background
The idea of a Global Accessibility Awareness Day started with a single blog post written by a Los Angeles-based web developer, Joe Devon. Jennison Asuncion, an accessibility professional from Toronto discovered Joe’s blog post purely by accident thanks to Twitter. After reading it, he immediately contacted Joe and they joined forces, leveraging their extensive and respective networks to realize the event.
